McDonald’s just got a whole lot more exciting for Pokémon Go players.

On Thursday, the official Pokémon Go website revealed its new partnership with McDonald’s, which gives trainers new places to explore and catch their favorite characters.

“We are excited to announce a partnership between Pokémon GO and McDonald’s in the United States,” the announcement reads. “As part of this collaboration, trainers will be able to visit Sponsored PokéStops or Gyms when visiting McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S.”

Trainers, it added, can visit the participating McDonald’s locations during specific weeks throughout December to “encounter Pokémon attracted by Lure Modules at McDonald’s PokéStops and participate in five-star raids at McDonald’s Gyms.” (If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a Pokémon Gym, the website explained that Gyms are “locations found throughout the world where you can battle the Pokémon of rival teams,” making it a true community affair.)

The announcement added that the Lure Modules and Raid Battles will be active from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time each day during the following weeks:

  • Monday, December 16, to Sunday, December 22, 2024
  • Monday, January 20, to Sunday, January 26, 2025
  • Monday, February 10, to Sunday, February 16, 2025
  • Monday, March 10, to Sunday, March 16, 2025

Of course, while you’re there, you could always catch a meal with your fellow trainers too. And if you visit over those 2025 dates, you may get lucky and be able to score a Snack Wrap, which McDonald’s announced is making its grand return sometime in 2025 — though no one is quite sure when exactly it will be back, as McDonald’s only mention of its return was in a cryptic Instagram post with the text “snack wraps xx.xx.2025” and the caption “can’t believe i just posted this.” Still, we’ll take it.

The Pokémon Go team also added that it’s critical to follow it on social media to get gaming updates, along with one more caveat in its announcement: “Please be aware of your surroundings and follow guidelines from local health authorities when playing Pokémon GO.” You don’t want to accidentally run into the fry machine while trying to catch them all, right?
