In late May, Cheez-It opened the limited-time Cheez-In Diner in Woodstock, New York, to feed hungry road-trippers who also craved a little nostalgia along the way. At the diner, visitors could dig into treats like the Extra Cheezburger and Deluxe Cheez-It Milkshake. Sadly, the diner is now closed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get a little piece of that magic.
After closing down the diner, Cheez-It decided to sell off one of the best decor items in there — the world’s first (and only) Cheez-It Jukebox, which plays songs in exchange for a Cheez-It cracker rather than a few quarters. “Simply place the cracker in the coin slot and choose your favorite song for a cheezy, good time,” the company shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine.
The jukebox is currently available on eBay with a starting bid of $890. The description of the jukebox reads, “World’s First & Only Cheez-It Jukebox … This is the only jukebox on the planet that plays for Cheez-It crackers instead of coins. The jukebox has a catalog of retro records from the ’50s and ’60s.”
There is one caveat, though: If you want it, you’re going to have to either go pick it up yourself in Woodstock or get a moving company to do it for you.
But in the end, it will be worth it because you’ll not only be getting a jukebox but also doing a good thing. As the description noted, the sale “will benefit the education system in the surrounding New York area via DonorsChoose, and Cheez-It will match the final bid price for the donation.”
This, however, isn’t the only way fans can experience the magic of the diner at home. As the company added in its statement, die-hard fans can recreate the recipes from the Cheez-In Diner, including the Cheez-It Biscu-it, at home as Cheez-It shared all its recipes on Cheez-It.com. So if you do win that jukebox, maybe invite a few friends over, make them a fully Cheez-It meal, and dance the night away to your favorite songs.
