The last thing I wanted to make room for inside my already cramped kitchen was more food storage containers. I was perfectly content with my range of non-toxic bowls and bags, all more than capable of keeping my leftovers from spoiling and spilling. Then Yeti reached out and offered to send me a set of its new stackable, nestable bowls. Since it’s my job to test kitchen gear for all of you, I reluctantly said yes — and I’m so glad I did. Completely blowing my low expectations out of the water, I now can’t imagine cooking or traveling without Yeti’s Rambler bowls within easy reach.
Yeti Rambler Standard Storage Bowls

After opening my package and giving the three bowls inside a good rinse, I started the testing process. Whether they were set to guard brown butter cookie dough that needed aging or tender salad greens that needed relocating to my in-laws’ house, it didn’t take long for me to realize that Yeti had filled a gap I didn’t even know was there.
Though I have a healthy supply of small containers for day-to-day leftovers, I was sorely lacking their larger counterparts for full batches of recipes that need to be driven to another location. Outside of this OXO baking dish and its convenient top for easy travel, I didn’t own any lidded containers suited to the same purpose. A salad bowl topped with plastic wrap doesn’t exactly scream “leakproof.”
Enter: Yeti. As with the rest of the Rambler line, these bowls are made of double-wall vacuum insulated stainless steel to keep food hot or cold for hours at a time. They’re also dishwasher-safe and equipped with press-fit lids that do an excellent job of keeping your food safe while in transport and fresh while at rest. I tested the standard option, available in 1-, 2-, and 4.5-quart bowls, but there are also lower and wider bowls with a maximum volume of 3.6 quarts. While the bowls are sold separately, I recommend grabbing three to create your own nestable bundle.
Whether you’re taking them with you on a camping trip or popping them in a car to take to a friend’s house, Yeti’s new Rambler bowls will not disappoint. I would have never known what I was missing if I hadn’t agreed to test them, and that would have been the biggest shame of all.
