Wonder if GoDaddy Would Sell X.CO

By now, I am sure you heard that Twitter is becoming X. Elon Musk, who bought X.com, is now forwarding X.com to the Twitter website. I would not be surprised if that flips at some point and X.com becomes the home for the matching X brand.
As you may recall, GoDaddy previously operated the X.CO domain name, where it served as a url shortener. In 2017, GoDaddy sunsetted the X.CO shortener, and it currently forwards to GoDaddy’s home page.
When GoDaddy stopped operating X.CO as a shortener, I thought that it might have been due to a forthcoming sale of the domain name. The company did not sell this domain name.
Now that it is apparent that Twitter is becoming X and X.com is going to be used in some manner, I wonder if GoDaddy would be interested in selling the X.CO domain name. Given the X branding, it would make more sense for X.CO to be used as a Twitter url shortener now than when it was introduced in 2010. I don’t think shorteners are really necessary though.
There are numerous companies called X operating on X .something domain names. Google’s moonshot holding company operates on X.company, and Musk’s xAI company now operates on X.ai, to name two examples. It wouldn’t be beyond the realm of possibility that someone could operate a different company called X on X.CO.. I would not be surprised if Twitter, Musk, or X acquires X.CO from GoDaddy.
Depends on the traffic. Definitely shall be soaring when they start using x . com globally.

if you are an old school DOT COMer like me – in the end x.ai will never amount to much UNLESS he pounds millions and millions and even more millions into marketing the “x.ai” brand. As far as .CO or whatever – well “good luck with that project”. AND with enormous branding of X.COM – that may take on secondary meaning where any use of X.? could be at risk – not from owning it – but how it is used – too make sure it does not infringe on any of the businesses built around “X”.
That said it seems UDRP panels respect PPC as legit use if owned prior to the TMs piling up.
X.CO is a million dollar domain

Who knows, maybe Elon might just buy GD and becomes the X Registrar.
I wish that happens.
