Wendy’s Just Launched a New Meal That’s Coming for McDonald’s

The countdown to Halloween is on and all our favorite fast food chains have been getting in on the spooky fun this year. Dunkin’ Donuts launched a craveable menu that included the coveted Halloween Munchkins bucket, McDonald’s brought back its nostalgic Boo Buckets, and Burger King even dropped a menu inspired by “The Addams Family” which included churros and a cookie-filled Morticia milkshake.

Not to be left out, Wendy’s recently brought back its Frosty Frights Kids’ Meal and now, it’s adding another Halloween-inspired option to the lineup.

Wendy’s Launches The Boo! Bag Meal

Starting Oct. 21 customers can snag a limited-edition Wendy’s Boo! Bag Meal at participating locations, while supplies last. The Boo! Bag meal offers adults all the perks of a kids’ meal but with larger portions and some added bonuses. The meal comes with a Dave’s Single, a small order of fries, a small chocolate Frosty—and yes, even a toy. Think of it like a kids’ meal, but for kids and adults.

Each meal comes with a glow-in-the-dark Bone Chiller Frosty figure and a Boo! Books coupon bundle. The book of deals is valid through Dec. 31 and features coupons for five free Jr. Frosty treats and a bonus coupon for a $1.99 kids’ meal. The coupon book can also be purchased separately for just $1, making it the perfect addition to your homemade boo baskets for family and friends. Plus, a portion of proceeds benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

In an Instagram post announcing the meal, food reviewer @Snackolator shared their view on the new menu addition. “This is one of my favorite fast food promotions—this one is just so well done!” they wrote.

Some commenters feel that the Boo! Bag Meal offers redemption for the Wendy’s Spongebob collab, which disappointed many fans due to its lack of special packaging and disappointing rollout. “This is their backup to cover up for the Krabby Patty [Meal]. 100% can’t deny it,” wrote one Instagram commenter. “They fumbled the Krabby Patty meal, I don’t trust them no more,” added another Instagrammer (whose comment received over 250 likes).

Just a heads up—these Boo! Bags could be hard to track down. Despite the nationwide launch, many customers are reporting that their local stores haven’t heard of the promotion, or ring the items up as different meals. Some have been unable to offer the specialty bag and toy despite having them in stock. Additionally, Boo! Bags aren’t showing up in the Wendy’s app or online ordering system yet. But don’t worry, some lucky fans have indeed been able to get their hands on the new meal, meaning it’s likely just a slow rollout.

Be sure to call your local Wendy’s restaurant to see if it’s participating in the promotion before you head to the drive-thru.
