It’s a scientific fact that the only thing better than a Lego Batman set is three Lego Batman sets. Walmart’s exclusive Lego DC Batman vs. The Joker Gift Set includes three different sets and five minifigures in one budget-friendly combo pack: The Batmobile, Batwing, and Batman minifigure display builds are on the smaller side, but this 835-piece gift set is still a great deal at $50. The Batman gift set is the latest in Walmart’s series of exclusive Lego combo packs. You can also get three Minecraft Lego sets for $20 and three Star Wars Lego sets for $50.
If you want a larger Batmobile build, you should know that Amazon has opened preorders for a 1,822-piece set based on the 1966 Batman TV series. You won’t have to wait long to build it either, as the classic Batmobile launches October 1.
The combo pack includes two builds based on Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film: Batwing: Batman vs. The Joker (357 pieces, $38 MSRP) and Batmobile: Batman vs. The Joker Chase (438 pieces, $48 MSRP). You also get a hard-to-find Batman minifigure with Gargoyle display stand (40 pieces, $5 MSRP) based on the Caped Crusader’s appear in Batman Returns. All told, you’ll get 835 pieces and five minifigures: three Batmen and two Jokers.
Buying all three of these sets individually at retail price would cost you $91. Even with Amazon’s current 20% discount on the Batmobile, which drops it to $38, you’d still be spending $76 on just the Batmobile and Batwing. Adding to the value here is the fact that Batman Returns minifigure is no longer available to purchase on its own at major retailers.
The Batmobile features an accessible cockpit, a control that raises two blasters into position, a lift-up trunk, and a flaming tailpipe. Meanwhile, the Batwing has two stud launchers and a compartment for Batman’s Batarangs and handcuffs.
Walmart’s exclusive gift set arrives just a month after the Lego DC Batman lineup grew with four new builds, including a Batmobile based on the vehicle seen in Batman: The Animated series, an easy-to-build Batcave with several minifigures, the 713-piece Lego DC Batman Construction Figure, and a small-scale 140-piece build of Batman’s Mech Armor.
If you want to watch Burton’s films while you build, Amazon has Batman 4K Film Collection for $47, nearly 50% off its $90 list price. The collection comes with 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray discs of four live-action films: Burton’s Batman (1989) and Batman Returns as well as Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Fans of Batman’s animated films should check out Batman 85th Anniversary Collection, which releases September 10 and compiles 10 films on 4K Blu-ray and digital.
We’ve included a list of the Walmart-exclusive Lego gift sets that are currently available to purchase for retail price or less directly from Walmart. The retailer has had other Lego combo packs in the past, but you’d be buying them from resellers.
