Vengeance Most Fowl Sees an Old Villain Return

Estimated read time 2 min read

After many brief teases, Netflix and Aardman have given us our first proper look at the beloved animation studio’s return to West Wallaby Street in the new trailer for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. And with it, the proper return of the greatest rooster-slash-penguin-slash-criminal-mastermind to exist in animation or, frankly, any medium around. Feathers McGraw is back!

The brief new trailer sets up a dire time for Wallace and his loyal canine companion, as the haggard inventor is framed for a spate of criminal activity in the wake of setting up his latest invention: a series of ‘Smart Gnomes,’ robotic garden ornaments originally designed to make the lives of Wallace’s neighbors a little easier. But who’s making thing’s go wrong? Who’s marshalling hordes of Wallace’s inventions to do their own bidding? Who’s breaking out of the maximum security prison/zoo they’ve been trapped in since 1993?

Well… you know who, because Aardman already told us. For the first time in Wallace & Gromit history, the series is returning to a familiar character outside of the titular duo in the form of The Wrong Trousers‘ antagonist, Feathers McGraw. Jailed at the climax of that film for trying to usurp Wallace’s titular trouser-based invention to rob a local museum of its jewels, Feathers is now pulling a proverbial Palpatine and up to no good again. How no good? He’s got his own pipe organ and a ‘World’s Best Boss’ mug, and a dream.

We’ll no doubt find out how dastardly that dream is—and what Gromit needs to do to save his master from certain doom—when Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl hits Netflix internationally on January 3, 2025. The film will air in Wallace & Gromit‘s ancestral home of the UK (and Ireland) on the BBC at a currently undisclosed date.
