Vanillaware consistently makes some of the most interesting and original games in the role-playing genre, and judging by early reviews, Unicorn Overlord continues that trend. The brand-new strategy RPG is set to launch tomorrow, March 8, and currently holds an 87 rating on Metacritic. If you’re looking forward to playing the new game this weekend, Unicorn Overlord preorders are still available at major retailers. Plus, longtime Vanillaware fans will likely be interested in the nostalgic preorder bonus. You can even still snag a very cool collector’s edition that includes a full tabletop card game–an appropriately novel inclusion for a collector’s edition from a studio as original as Vanillaware.
We don’t know much else about the game yet, but preorders for Unicorn Overlord’s standard edition and a massive Collector’s edition that features tons of unique merch–including a card game that adapts Unicorn Overlord into tabletop form–are already available at select retailers.
$60
Unicorn Overlord is $60 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical preorders are still available at major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.
All preorders come with The Coat of Arms Deco Elements, a DLC pack focused on your team’s flag. Fans of Vanillaware will be happy to know they will be able to design their flag with trappings from 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, Dragon’s Crown, and Odin Sphere.
$130
Unicorn Overlord’s Collector’s Edition comes with a bunch of cool items not normally seen in other box sets. The package includes a boxed copy of the game for your chosen platform plus a 132-page art book, two-CD soundtrack, and the Unicorn Overlord card game. The Unicorn Overlord card game features 239 cards for 2-4 players to use in competitive battles similar to the video game’s skirmishes.
Unicorn Overlord Collector’s Edition is $130 on Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X. Though it’s temporarily out of stock for Switch, you can still grab the collector’s edition for PS5 and Xbox Series X at Amazon. You’ll also get the preorder bonus with the collector’s edition.
