In the words of our favorite holiday songstress, Mariah Carey, “It’s tiiiiiiime.” Now that Thanksgiving has come and gone—and you’ve enjoyed leftover turkey in every way imaginable—it’s time to fully embrace the flavors and activities that feel undeniably December. You’ve probably already cracked open your Aldi Advent Calendar and stocked up on your favorite peppermint treats, while making plans to grab the just-announced seasonal Sam’s Club sundae and, of course, sample Starbucks’ new winter drinks.
But with so much to do, including all of your holiday gift shopping, you may not have the time or budget to buy a pricey coffee drink every day. Luckily, Trader Joe’s has you covered with a new product that’ll save you a trip to the coffee drive-thru, but still keep you in the holiday spirit.
Trader Joe’s Gingerbread Non-Dairy Oat Creamer
Trader Joe’s never disappoints when it comes to coffee-related launches, whether it’s a new cold brew flavor or variations on its fan-favorite creamers. The grocer recently launched a Gingerbread Non-Dairy Oat Creamer and not surprisingly, shoppers are flocking to the dairy case to find it.
According to the TJ’s website, it uses “the same dairy-free, lactose-free, and gluten-free base as our everyday Non-Dairy Brown Sugar Oat Creamer and seasonal Non-Dairy Cinnamon Bun Oat Creamer,” but with an additional dose of gingerbread spices. Expect to taste the same aromatic spices you’d expect in a classic Christmas cookie, like ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, and cardamom.
After trying the gingerbread creamer with her iced coffee, TikToker @ericaxox3 was instantly captivated. “I’m not exaggerating. I think this is the best creamer Trader Joe’s has ever had. It tastes exactly like a gingerbread cookie,” she said. “This is going to be my new go-to creamer every day.”
Other shoppers are also raving about the new creamer’s strong gingerbread flavor. In a Reddit thread, one fan commented, “I find the gingerbread flavor quite pronounced,” while another noted that “a little goes a long way.”
How to Use Store-Bought Creamer to Make Coffee Shop-Quality Drinks
Even if you’re not making a Starbucks or Dunkin’ run, you can still give your homemade coffee drink the same coffee shop-quality feel. Here are a few ways to level up the drinks you make with the Trader Joe’s gingerbread creamer.
- Swap out the cup. An insulated coffee thermos may be the most practical vessel for your drink, especially if you’re on the go. But if you have the time to sit and enjoy it, consider using a nice mug for a hot drink or a glass with a reusable straw for a cold one.
- Froth the creamer. When asked if the new creamer frothed nicely, Redditor Important_silence replied, “Yes! I use an inexpensive handheld frother. TJ’s Oat Creamers froth better than any other brand of oat creamer I’ve tried.” Add some creamer to your preferred milk, froth it, and pour over a shot of espresso to make a gingerbread latte.
- Make cold foam. In this TikTok video, @jessiejade91 adds a splash of the gingerbread creamer to Sown Cold Foaming Cream to make a specialty shop-like topping for her iced coffee drink.
- Go beyond coffee. Our favorite cafes serve more than just coffee. On days when you’re craving something different, add the gingerbread creamer to chai or matcha for a festive tea drink.
