Trader Joe’s Brought Back This ‘Life-Affirming’ Product, and Customers Are Running to Stock Up

When it comes to unique, delicious, and affordable cheeses, Trader Joe’s stands out with its astounding selection, as does its distant cousin, Aldi. This holiday season, cheese lovers are especially excited as one of Trader Joe’s most popular seasonal cheeses makes its much-anticipated return.

“Alert the church elders: Fromage Pavé is back,” TikTok user @lexnicoleta announced in a video.

Trader Joe’s Fromage Pavé Is Back

When it comes to making a charcuterie board with TJ’s cheeses, everyone knows about the Caramelized Onion Cheddar Cheese, Manchego, and Unexpected Cheddar. However, the seasonal Fromage Pavé is the secret winner hiding in the cheese section.

Trader Joe’s Fromage Pavé is a soft-ripened cheese that has a creamy, luscious texture. While it’s similar to Brie in look and flavor, Fromage Pavé is even softer and creamier.

Like many soft-ripened cheeses, including Brie and Camembert, TJ’s Fromage Pavé has a white rind that encases the creamy cheese. While the rind can be a bit stinky, the cheese itself is mild and buttery in flavor. Don’t let the aroma scare you away from this $7 favorite.

“It’s creamy—it’s like a Brie but even better somehow,” Nicoleta explained. “I can’t even explain [the flavor]. It’s so good. It is the best cheese known to man.”

Customers love to use Fromage Pavé as a spreadable cheese for crackers on cheese boards, melted into grilled cheese sandwiches, or baked and served warm. It pairs well with jams, fruits, and salty meats—and, of course, it’s great on its own.

Trader Joe’s brings this fan-favorite cheese back every year around the holidays. With its immense popularity, the supermarket even introduced a flavored variety made with red chili peppers last year. Since it was spotted earlier this month, customers have been rushing to stock up on the limited-time cheese.

“You need it for your Christmas party. You need it for your girls’ night. You need it to [eat] alone hunched over like a little Gremlin in your kitchen at 10 p.m. on a Tuesday,” Nicoleta joked.

Be warned: Many people are buying a few boxes at a time because once the Fromage Pavé is gone, it’s unavailable until later next year. If you have a few holiday get-togethers this season, you might want to buy enough cheese to last you into 2025.
