It’s hard to believe, but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been living in sewers and chowing on pizza for 40 years. To mark the occasion, Insight Editions is launching the TMNT: Ultimate Visual History Revised and Expanded, which covers the entire four-decade history of the superheroes and features gorgeous artwork from video games, comics, TV shows, and more. The book arrives on July 23 and is now available for preorder with a nice discount.
$67 (was $75)
This version of the hardcover book offers 50 additional pages compared to the original, which covers newer releases like TMNT: Mutant Mayhem as well as thirty collectible inserts. The rest of the volume is filled with interviews, images, and in-depth details about characters, comics, movies, and everything else regarding the iconic turtles. It’s a hefty tome–clocking in at 328 pages–and is arguably the best way to dive deep into the gang’s storied history.
If you’re an Amazon Prime member, select locations are eligible for free release-day delivery. That means you won’t have to wait for long shipping times and can start flipping through its pages as soon as it hits shelves on July 23.
Another cool TMNT anniversary book is arriving later this year–Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 40th Anniversary Comics Celebration. This is a much smaller compilation at 104 pages, though it’s still a gorgeous hardcover volume and encompasses interviews with key figures like Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird (the duo responsible for the original comics). It arrives on November 5, and preorders are now open for just $20.
To help keep you occupied until the two books are released later this year, consider looking at the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comic Collection at Humble. The deal expires on June 15, but until then, you can snag all 15 volumes of IDW’s TMNT series for just $18. These digital copies are redeemable through Kobo–a popular ebook reader for smartphones, tablets, and computers– so be sure to make an account if you don’t already have one.
