If you’re aiming for organization and decluttering this year, don’t forget your favorite tech. In a world where it’s easy to pile up dozens of cords, wall adapters, cables, chargers, accessories, and more, your tech can be an easy thing to ignore when simplifying your essentials.

As ZDNET’s mobile accessory expert, I have a mountain of small tech gear that I regularly use for testing, as well as my own personal collection of everyday essentials. After countless trips commuting and traveling — with no real solution for storage besides shoving cords and cables into different pockets of my carry-on — I’ve dedicated 2025 to streamlining my daily essentials and giving each item a dedicated “home.”

Multifunctional and structured

Here’s where Orbitkey’s 2-in-1 tech accessory pouch comes in. While searching the web for potential solutions, it piqued my interest because of its multi-pouch elements and structured design.

Previous to this New Year’s resolution, I shoved most of my most used tech and travel gear into three different Calpak Compakt zippered pouches, which was better than not having any type of organization, but was becoming cumbersome to manage. This is not a knock to Calpak at all — I love my Luka laptop bag and other accessories. My needs have just outgrown this system, which initially worked well for me when I was a student.

Orbitkey’s appeal is in its structured and functional design, apt features, and multifunctional use. Not only can I use this pouch for travel, in my work bag, and at home storage, but I can also keep the smaller removable pouch on my desk for easy access to even my smallest items. No more searching for my iPhone SD card reader in a sea of wires and chargers.

The Orbitkey 2-1 pouch is compact and fits comfortably in most average work totes or bags. (Pictured inside the Calpak Luka expandable tote bag).

The cable pass-through is perfect for keeping my power banks on hand and accessible, which works great while traveling or commuting. There are several dedicated pockets and dividers within the pouch system that provide a basic mapping for organizing your gear if you’re unsure of where to start.

I especially appreciate that the removable pouch is designed for smaller gear like my Apple Pencil, AirPods, SD cards, USB-C hub, and more, while the back portion of the unit is perfect for chunky cords and cables like my MacBook Pro cord and larger wall adapters.

The pouch feels high quality, is water resistant (perfect for when my water bottle leaks or sweats in my bag — oops), and most importantly, simplifies the organizing process. It comes in two standard colors, Black and Terracotta, and is also available in an exclusive Stone color thanks to a collaboration with organization royalty Marie Kondo’s brand KonMari.

Everything it can hold

Here’s everything I squeezed into my 2-in-1 pouch system: MacBook Pro cable and wall adapter, AirPods, Apple Pencil, iPhone SD reader, two SD cards, wired earbuds, an iPhone Lightning cable with wall adapter, a battery pack with accompanying cable, my Anker Nano power bank, a Kindle Paperwhite with Strapsicle grips attached, a USB-C hub, a MagSafe tripod wallet, screen cleaner, and an AirTag secured around the top handle.

I still had a small bit of space left to use, but the best part of all is I could unzip this pouch and easily find what I needed without having to dump the contents out.

The Orbitkey 2-in-1 organizer filled with some of my favorite things.

This 2-in-1 system is definitely on the pricier side, but the thoughtful design and finishes speak for themselves. This system is specifically designed for those who carry plenty of tech gear on the regular, and speaking as someone working in tech, I think it’s a great storage option with multifaceted uses. It would make a great gift for sure, and thanks to its durable material, I think I will get great longevity out of this system.

My only complaint is that I wish it had a few more color options to choose from, but I can’t be too picky when the organization is this good.

ZDNET’s buying advice

If you’re someone in need of a simple organization solution for your most used cords, smaller tech products, and accessories, this 2-in-1 organizer may be a great fit for you. It’s been a good enough option for dozens of users and even has a 5/5 star rating on Orbitkey’s website. I think it’s also a good investment for someone who travels frequently and wants a dedicated “home” for those can’t-go-without tech items. It works great in a carry-on bag or work tote for easy access to what I need the most.

However, it is pricier, starting at $75, and it only comes in limited colors. If you’re looking for something a smidge cheaper, there are other organizational options on the market from brands like Calpak, Beis, and more that could work for you and offer more colors and designs. Keep in mind that these may not be as functional or thoughtfully designed as Orbitkey’s, but ultimately, it’s up to you to decide what works best for your needs.
