These 31 Fake Superhero Movie Titles Making Fun Of Marvel And DC From The Boys Are Hilarious

Prime Video’s The Boys regularly pokes fun at Marvel and superhero tropes in general, but the latest episode, June 27’s “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son,” goes even further.

The episode opens with a scene from the “V52 Expo,” which is an obvious reference events like Disney’s D23 and Marvel’s regular appearances at San Diego Comic-Con. We then see a slide on screen showing Vought’s plans for Phases 7-19, and it includes a long list of film names that parody Marvel and DC. One of these, Guardians of Godolkin, is an obvious nod to Marvel, as is G-Men: Days Past From The Future.

We’re also told that fans in attendance at V52 Expo will hear about Vought’s plans “exhaustively,” which could be a nod to how big movie studios like to reveal so much about their plans instead of letting fans be genuinely surprised by what’s to come.

The movie titles included on the slide are:

  • Training A-Train
  • Homelander: Land of the Free, Home of the Saved
  • The Seven Reborn
  • Super School
  • Firecracker: Lord’s Soldier
  • The Deep: Secrets of Atlantis
  • The Tek Knight
  • Double Standard
  • A-Train: Into the Multiverse
  • The Deep: Gods and Dolphins
  • Firecracker: God Help Me
  • Teenage Kix: Ditch Day
  • Homelander: Justice Served
  • Black Noir 3: Back to Hanoi
  • The Seven Forever
  • A Dark and Stormy Knight
  • G3: G-Men
  • The Deep: Lifeguard SUmmer
  • The Seven Returns
  • The Tek Knight: Knight Light
  • G2: G-Men
  • Homelander vs. Soldier Boy: Annhilhilation
  • A-Train Off the Tracks
  • Firecracker: Heaven’s Miracle
  • Teenage Kix: Home For Kwanzaa 2
  • Let There Be Knight
  • Firecracker’s A Christmas Wish
  • Teenage Kix: Sex Ed
  • Guardians of Godolkin: Flipped
  • Speedwalkers 2: Mall Race!
  • G-Men: Days Past From The Future

The Boys creator Eric Kripke said on social media that the team put in a lot of work to come up with the fake movie names. “You can’t imagine the effort we put into this one shot. I was obsessed,” he wrote.

Will Ferrell makes a cameo in The Boys this season playing A-Train’s running coach in what’s clearly a parody of cheesy movies. A scene from Episode 4 also pokes fun at the filmmaking process in general, as you can see in the clip below.

Later in the episode, we see the character Tek Knight appearing on stage to promote a reboot of Tek Knight known as The Tek Knight. He says the movie has a Nirvana soundtrack and a 12-minute sequence that’s “entirely pitch black.” This is a pretty clear nod to The Batman, which prominently featured the Nirvana song “Something in the Way” and was a very physically dark movie.

The Boys has now aired five of its eight episodes in Season 4. New episodes air Thursdays on Prime Video. This is the penultimate season of The Boys, as the show is due to wrap up with Season 5.
