The Sam’s Club Bakery Item Customers ‘Buy Weekly’ Is Back—and Bigger Than Ever

Estimated read time 3 min read

The holiday season is quickly approaching, and like it or not, that means we need to start planning our menus for Thanksgiving, New Year’s, and every occasion in between. While we might be home cooks who love from-scratch baking, we also know that it doesn’t have to be homemade to taste delicious.

Even Ina Garten serves store-bought dessert at her dinner parties, so sticking that bakery pie on a new plate and slicing it up as if you made it yourself isn’t as taboo as you might think. Especially not when there are so many tasty grocery store bakery treats out there.

If you’re looking for an extra-easy dessert that can double as a stunning centerpiece and delicious crowd-pleaser, look no further than Sam’s Club’s pies and cakes. Customers love the award-winning apple pie, bar cake, and new pumpkin crumb cake—and now, another fan-favorite is back in clubs just in time.

Member’s Mark French Silk Pie Returns To Sam’s Club

The Member’s Mark French Silk Pie is back at Sam’s Club stores nationwide.

Sam’s Club French Silk Pie is a decadent, layered dessert that starts with a flaky, crumbly crust that’s filled with luscious, silky-smooth chocolate and topped with a mountain of whipped cream and chocolate curls. It’s been a customer favorite for years thanks to its “melt-in-your-mouth” texture and delicious mousse-like filling.

The pies hit clubs earlier this month with a change that customers immediately pointed out: the price. In previous years, the French Silk Pie cost less than $10; however, this year, the pie returned with a $14.98 price tag. Many fans were quick to point out the price hike, but what few have acknowledged is that the pie also grew in size.

“Okay, I just ordered 3 of these when I saw them online for same day delivery last week. Then I noticed the price difference, but the joy of having the pies still propelled me to order them. When they arrived, and especially when I went to cut the first pie, I noticed that they are so much larger; I would say 50% larger, therefore matching the 50% price hike,” a Sam’s Club reviewer wrote.

Previously, the Member’s Mark French Silk Pie was 10 inches in diameter. The pies today are 12 inches in diameter and weigh in at 60 ounces, so nearly 4 pounds worth of pie.

“This is one of the best French Silk pies out there. Well worth the price. It’s a very large pie, so don’t be put off by the increase in price,” another reviewer wrote.

The French Silk Pie is a seasonal offering, so it won’t be around forever.

“I noticed that this seasonal pie disappears at Easter weekend. I plan to stock my freezer around [then]. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my favorite pie weekly, oh, I meant daily,” a reviewer wrote.

Sam’s Club’s French Silk Pie will be sold at all clubs through the holiday season—and with all that silky, chocolatey pie to go around, it’s the perfect addition to any holiday party or dinner, and we heard Santa wouldn’t mind if you leave a slice out for him, too.
