Bandai Namco is making a bold pivot for Pac-Man’s 45th anniversary next year with Shadow Labyrinth. Announced at The Game Awards, the new game is a wild reimagining of the iconic yellow puck. Instead of a family-friendly arcade game, Shadow Labyrinth is a much darker take on the franchise that appears to pull inspiration from hits like Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest. The intriguing title is slated to launch on PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2025, and preorders are already available for the physical Switch and PS5 versions at Amazon and Best Buy. Multiple editions are available, including a limited Secret Edition that’s packed with extras.
Shadow Labyrinth Preorder Bonuses
Preordering at Best Buy unlocks the digital bonus “Original Arcade Sound FX.” It’s unclear if this is a retailer exclusive, or if others will offer the content when preorders become available elsewhere. If you’re interested in the bonus, be sure to read the fine print at your preferred retailer.
$30
The standard edition of Shadow Labyrinth is budget-friendly at just $30. It includes the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. Physical copies are currently available at Amazon and Best Buy. Digital preorders are not yet live, but you can wishlist the game on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
$60
If you spend an extra $30 on the Shadow Labyrinth Secret Edition, you’ll get some cool physical and digital collectibles along with the base game and preorder bonuses. The extras include:
- Digital art book
- Digital soundtrack
- Enamel pin set
- 18 x 12-inch double-sided map poster
- Blacklight keychain
- Glow-in-the-dark sticker sheet
- Iridescent sticker sheet
- Booklet case
That’s a pretty solid amount of bonus content–and if you’re looking for a unique way to celebrate the game’s 45th anniversary, it could be a great choice.
