The Next Jackbox Game Is A Silly Take On Family Feud

Estimated read time 3 min read

A new entry in the Jackbox series launches in late October, but unlike the other games that were filled with various interactive experiences, The Jackbox Survey Scramble is going in a Family Feud-like direction. Billed as a brand-new collection of survey-based games, The Jackbox Survey Scramble will launch for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV toward the end of October.

The aim of the game is to think outside of the box and guess what the answers to surveys are. These are based on real surveys from across the globe, and include questions like, “In one word, what’s the cutest nickname for butts?” or, “In one word, what’s the best sandwich topping?”In case you’re wondering, the answer to both questions is “heavenly hams.”

Jackbox Games says that The Jackbox Survey Scramble is designed to offer a constantly updated experience, as each guess submitted is then sent to a database and inputted back into the game as an answer. There’ll be four game modes, including:

  • Hilo mode: Where you have to guess the most- and least-popular answers to surveys
  • Speed mode: Rapid-fire game rounds
  • Squares mode: Two teams compete to claim three squares in a row on the grid
  • Bounce mode: Two teams control a paddle that sits on a scale between the most-popular to the least-popular answers. Work with your team to guess an answer that puts your paddle in the right place to intercept a bouncing ball and stop your opponents from scoring a goal.

For younger family members, you can customize the game with content filters, streamer settings, or accessibility options, and there are additional family settings to apply. If this sounds like fun on a bun to you, there’ll be a free demo during Steam Next Fest from October 14 – 21, allowing you to test out the Hilo and Square modes. Additional game modes will also be added in a free update toward the end of the year.
