Netflix has announced additional cast members for the upcoming series The Abandons, which hails from Sons of Anarchy’s Kurt Sutter. The newly announced cast is headlined by Lamar Johnson, the actor from HBO’s The Last of Us who turned in a memorable performance in his two Season 1 episodes.

For anyone unaware, Johnson played Henry, the older brother of Sam (Keivonn Woodward), and he delivered a memorable performance in his short time on the series. Johnson plays Albert Mason on The Abandons.

The Abandons is described as a “pulse-pounding action drama” taking place in the American West. In addition to Johnson, other newly announced cast members include Nick Robinson (Maid), Diana Silvers (Booksmart), Lucas Till (MacGyver), Aisling Franciosi (God’s Creatures), and Natalia del Riego (Promised Land).

These actors join the previously announced castle that includes Lena Heady and Gillian Anderson.

The show follows a group of “diverse, outlier families” in 1850s Oregon during the “Manifest Destiny” era who are taking on a corrupt group trying to force them off their land.

“These abandoned souls, the kind of lost souls living on the fringe of society, unite their tribes to form a family and fight back,” reads a line from the show’s description. “In this bloody process, ‘justice’ is stretched beyond the boundaries of the law. The Abandons will explore that fine line between survival and law, the consequences of violence, and the corrosive power of secrets, as this family fights to keep their land.”

Sutter is the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of The Abandons. There is no word yet on a release date for The Abandons.
