The Crunchyroll Holiday Sale Is Offering Big Discounts On Some Of the Best Anime Blu-Rays

Estimated read time 2 min read

Crunchyroll has launched its Holiday Sale event, a promotion that features new items on sale every week. For the first week, the anime and manga hub is offering dozens of Blu-rays for sale, and many of these have been marked down by up to 50%. These include not only modern shows like Attack on Titan and Black Clover, but also classic anime films, original video animations, and limited-edition releases that include extra goodies with the main attraction.

We’ve rounded up some of the top picks below, including classic shows like Black Lagoon, an action-packed series about a team of mercenaries who often find themselves caught in the middle of explosive situations. If you’re looking to watch a few older films but in glorious 1080p, Crunchyroll is also offering steep discounts on the 1988 Appleseed OVA, A Wind Named Amnesia, and Akira. These projects all come from a time when animation was done by hand, and the crafted look really shines on Blu-ray with these remasters.

For anyone looking to do some early Christmas shopping, there are some really good deluxe box sets to check out. Great Pretender is a fantastic show about high-stakes heists, and the deluxe edition comes with a 129-page art book, 10 art cards, and a double-sided A3 poster inside of the colorful slipcase box. The first Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood box set contains 30 episodes from the series loaded up in a special box illustrated by the series creator Hiromu Arakawa, as well as an art book full of sketches and concept art from the anime.

If you’re after some live-action deals, you can also check out specials on a new Blu-ray release of Gladiator before its sequel arrives, and Demolition Man is getting a 4K overhaul. If you’re a fan of the Sylvester Stallone action film, this one looks set to be the definitive version as it comes with new special features, collectibles, and more.
