Taylor Swift Should Be The Next Deadpool Actor, Ryan Reynolds Says

Taylor Swift is not in Deadpool & Wolverine, as many hoped she might be, but Ryan Reynolds has now said the pop singer would be a great candidate to play the role of Deadpool in the future.

Reynolds told E! News that Swift has serious comedy chops and would play the role well.

“I always do say that if anyone ever were to take over the role of Deadpool, actually Taylor would be very good,” he said. “Because that’s a superpower that I don’t know that she shows everyone too often: She’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”

For a while, rumors swirled that Swift could appear in Deadpool & Wolverine as Dazzler. The filmmakers debunked this rumor, and Reynolds doubled down on it in the new interview.

“I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor, because she’s our friend–that is not in this film,” he said.

The rumors of Swift being in Deadpool & Wolverine emerged seemingly out of the fact that Swift is friends with Reynolds. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, along with director Shawn Levy, attended a 2023 Kansas City Chiefs football game with Swift, who was cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce. People theorized, based on no real evidence, that this might be indicative of Swift playing a role in the movie.

Reynolds and director Shawn Levy initially played coy about Swift potentially appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, in part presumably because it helped build buzz around the film.

Deadpool and Wolverine releases on July 26, and it is Marvel’s one and only film in 2024. Continuing a popular Hollywood trend, Deadpool and Wolverine will have its own popcorn bucket, and it’s obscene.
