Super Mario Party Jamboree, the latest entry in the long-running party game series, was shown off during the latest Nintendo Direct. When it launches on October 17, it’ll be the third iteration of Mario Party on Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is calling Jamboree the biggest Mario Party, as it will include over 110 minigames. Preorders for Super Mario Party Jamboree are live now at major retailers.
Jamboree is following up 2021’s Mario Party Superstars and the 2018 hit Super Mario Party. If you don’t already own those games, you can hone your skills ahead of Jamboree’s release by picking up Superstars for $50 at Walmart and Super Mario Party either on its own for $50 or bundled with a pair of red and blue Joy-Con controllers for $99. Considering Mario Party games can be played with single Joy-Con controllers, this bundle is a convenient way to add two more players to the party.
Super Mario Party Jamboree Preorder Bonuses
Though Nintendo typically doesn’t offer preorder bonuses for its games, major retailers are known to give away little Nintendo trinkets. Nothing has been announced on that front just yet, but we’ll update this preorder guide if and when we hear more.
$60
Super Mario Party Jamboree preorders are available for $60 at Best Buy and GameStop, and Target is likely to begin taking orders soon, too.
If you’re wondering why we didn’t mention Amazon or Walmart there, it’s because neither retailer is carrying the most recent or soon-to-be released Nintendo games. You cannot purchase any of these three games online from Amazon or Walmart: Nintendo World Championships, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. You can find listings for Paper Mario at both retailers, but these are from third-party sellers.
Super Mario Party Jamboree looks to be a nice step forward for the iconic series, offering more mini-games, five new maps, and a handful of returning maps from previous entries. Along with the traditional Mario Party experience of racing around a board and battling against friends, you can now jump online to challenge 19 other players in the new Koopathlon mode.
It sounds like there are even more new modes players will get to explore–but Nintendo is keeping them under wraps. Expect to hear more about Super Mario Party Jamboree as we get closer to its release on October 17.
Plenty of other games were highlighted during the latest Nintendo Direct, including The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Mario & Luigi Brothership, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. We also got a long-awaited look at Metroid Prime 4, which not only exists, but is slated for a 2025 launch.
Below, we’ve rounded up the Nintendo Switch exclusives from the Direct that are now available to preorder.
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom — $60
- Mario & Luigi: Brothership — $60
- Super Mario Party Jamboree — $60
- Donkey Kong Country Returns HD — $60
