Target has an Apple iPad on sale for as low as $200 as part of its Labor Day sale.
We now live in a second screen society. We scroll through Twitter while catching up on episodes of House of the Dragon. We open up tabs on our dual monitors to watch YouTube video essay while we work on that report that’s due soon. So why not give in and get yourself the ultimate second screen device?
The iPad is your phone but larger. Scroll Instagram, but big. Watch some TikToks, but BIG. Text while driving, but … okay maybe not that one. My point is the use case owning an iPad or any tablet for that matter is pretty clear. Clear and large display, bridging your phone with computer for an all-purpose smart device.
What’s There to Know About This Specific Model of iPad?
This particular iPad is a 9th generation model from originally released in 2021. View you apps, texts, photos and videos in a comfortable 10.2″ Retina display with True Tone. The iPad comes equipped with an 8MP wide back camera along with a 12MP ultrawide front camera with Center Stage. That’s a machine learning software feature that adjusts the front-facing camera while using FaceTime or other video apps. It keeps you and anyone one else with you in the center of the frame as you move around the room. Touch ID is supported for secure authentication when unlocking your iPad as well as support for Apple Pay.
Battery life is toted as “all-day” with the asterisk indicating that it will vary for you based on use and configuration, but you should still be able to count on getting hours of use before having to plug in. Speaking of, mind you this 2021 model is from before Apple finally made the switch to adopt USB-C charging and connection ports for its products. Not a huge concern though as the iPad comes with a Lightning connector for charging and accessories.
The iPad is compatible with the Apple Pencil — and excellent added accessory for artists and the like, drawing or digitally painting with tools like Procreate. Additionally, it can be paired with Apple’s Smart Keyboard to give it more of a classic laptop feel for situations where that might be handy.
You have your choice of a model supporting 64G or 256GB of storage, each also available in Silver or Space Gray. The 64GB model is down to just $200 — a 39% discount. The beefier 256GB version is also $130 off, bringing that one down to just $350.
