Sonic’s Groovy Fries Are Just $1 All June

Are you sick and tired of the same old fries? Well, my friends, today is your lucky day, because Sonic is bringing its new Groovy Fries to its locations nationwide. And it’s bringing its Groovy Sauce along too. 

“Our Sonic Tots are iconic, but we thought it was time to give them some competition,” Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “With the new Groovy Fries, we’re redefining what a fast-food fry can be and giving folks another reason to say, ‘Yes, I would like fries with that!’”

The Groovy Fries represent the brand’s first update to its fry recipe in more than a decade. According to Sonic, the fries are “crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside” and obviously pair perfectly with the Groovy Sauce, which is a mix of ranch and sriracha that honestly sounds like it would be perfect with everything. 

To honor these new fries (and the corresponding sauce), Sonic is offering them in any size for just $1 throughout the month of June — but only while supplies last, so order early. (The offer is also void for combos, and you gotta add in those pesky taxes.) 

This also isn’t the only menu innovation the brand plans to bring to the market throughout the season. Sonic shared that it plans to drop “many” new items throughout the summer under its “Live Free Eat Sonic” campaign, which also includes what it calls “unserious TV ads” set to also hit the airways in the coming weeks. 

Those who are really feeling the Sonic spirit can also check out its new online lifestyle portal LiveFreeShopSonic.com, on June 17, where they can find some sweet new rotating merchandise like nugget ice and what it calls “extreme sports accessories” for hitting the open road this summer.
