Nothing gives me pure comfort quite like the nostalgic taste of gooey Rice Krispies Treats. These crispy marshmallowy sweets bring me back to easier times when I was young and and would rush home to dive into one as the perfect after-school snack.
Sometimes my mom bought them for us at the store, other times we got to make them ourselves (with mom’s help, of course), but either way, Rice Krispies Treats were always a major win in our house.
That’s why I was so excited to see that my favorite treat was coming out in four new innovative varieties. And they aren’t just your typical flavor variations: Rice Krispies Treats is releasing new products in the freezer section for the first time ever.
Rice Krispies Treats Launches a New Ice Cream Pint and 3 New Ice Cream Sandwiches
Rice Krispies Treats collaborated with Golden West Food Group (GWFG) to bring us new ice cream treats coming to stores soon.
The California-based GWFG is a manufacturer and distributor of many other beloved grocery store finds including Cinnabon, Hershey’s, and our all-time favorite Tillamook. After all, GWFG was the one who helped launch those delicious Tillamook frozen Mac and cheese dinners and pizzas a couple of years back.
Fast forward to today and GWFG has teamed up alongside the global manufacturing company Kellanova (formerly Kellogg’s)—known for its breakfast items and snacks, including Rice Krispies Treats—to create four new treats in the freezer aisle: three different flavored Rice Krispies Treats ice cream sandwiches and a Rice Krispies Treats flavored ice cream pint.
The Rice Krispies Treats Original Ice Cream Pint offers similar flavors and textures to the OG cereal bar, while the Ice Cream Sandwiches come in three flavors: Original, Strawberry, and Triple Chocolate that all include a layer of creamy ice cream sandwiched between two crunchy marshmallow squares.
The ice cream treats will soon be available in the freezer section at major grocers and retailers, including Kroger, Albertsons, and Walmart. In the meantime, we’ll be getting ready by clearing out our own freezers to make plenty of room.
