As anyone looking for a new gig will tell you, this job market is absolutely wild. So, you have to do everything in your power to stand out. And luckily, Pizza Hut — yes, the pizza shop — has your back.
On Tuesday, Pizza Hut launched its “ResZAmes” service, its new offering aimed at helping job seekers get the attention they deserve from potential employers. How? By delivering their resume printed on a specialty box to businesses alongside one of its pies.
According to Pizza Hut, it chose September as its month to offer the unique service as now is both the start of quarter four and what is known as the “September Surge,” the time when the labor market tends to see a massive increase in job opportunities. During this time, “Pizza Hut is leveraging what it does best — deliver hot, ready-to-eat pizza — to help job seekers grab the attention of employers and deliciously differentiate themselves in a crowded job market,” the brand shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine.
There is one major caveat here: It’s only available to job seekers looking at employers in New York City. Even still, the pizza chain said it can deliver the specially crafted boxes to corporate headquarters of the customer’s choosing in NYC, all for free.
“We know finding a job can be daunting, especially during this key hiring season, so we wanted to lend a hand to our job-seeking customers and help them break through the clutter,” Melissa Friebe, the chief marketing officer of Pizza Hut, shared. “By combining Pizza Hut’s iconic pizza boxes with job seekers’ resumes, we are hoping to help resumes drum up the same excitement as office pizza and help the applicant make a lasting impression. Who could possibly ignore a resume when it is delivered as a delicious pizza?”
To take part in the initiative, all you need to do is go to ResZAmes.com and input the zip code of the headquarters of your potential future employer. Then, as long as your future employer’s office falls in an eligible zone, you’ll be directed to input your resume. Pizza Hut will review the resume submissions. It will then select a few lucky winners whose resumes and pies will be hand-delivered. So go ahead and try your luck now through September 22, 2024.
