Estimated read time 1 min read

There’s an active recall on whole pistachios in Canada, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). This is due to a potential Salmonella contamination.

The pistachios affected at Nut Works branded Raw Whole Pistachios sold across Ontario in 150-gram plastic containers. They contain a UPC of 803871 603801 and one of the following best by dates, all including the year 2025: April 24, May 3, May 29, June 14, June 26, August 7, August 30, September 3 and October 15.

If you have one of the matching recalled pistachio products in your kitchen, dispose of them or return them to your place of purchase for a refund. While there are no reported illnesses connected to this recall, Salmonella infection (also known as salmonellosis) can cause symptoms like diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, headaches, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. Symptoms can be more severe for those age 65 or older, immunocompromised individuals or for young children. If you are experiencing any of these signs after eating the impacted nuts, talk to your healthcare provider as soon as possible.
