Phantom Blade 0 got a new gameplay trailer during Summer Game Fest, showing off its quick action combat. The trailer featured a couple of different bosses, which highlighted just how quick the combat moves. While it wasn’t immediately clear just how difficult the game is, it looks heavily inspired by Dark Souls and Ninja Gaiden.
The action involves tons of fast-paced sword blocking and striking, and while multiple different weapons were shown, none of them seemed to offer a slower play-style. In addition to some one-on-one sword fights, the trailer also showed off combat against a few weaker enemies, with a variety of other weapons, like bows and explosives, used to dispatch the enemies.
Neither a release date nor release window were given during the presentation, but Phantom Blade 0 was previously announced to be coming to PS5 and PC. It was revealed that Phantom Blade 0 would be going on a “Demo World Tour” offering up the chance to play it at future gaming events, like ChinaJoy, Gamescom, and Tokyo Game Show, all of which will take place later this year.
Phantom Blade 0 is being developed by S-Game, which has made multiple entries in the series prior to this one. Most of those entries were available exclusively on mobile and PC and many weren’t released outside of China.
