Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are back together, better than ever, and are even launching their very own drinks at Sonic, a fast-food chain near and dear to their hearts.
The iconic ’00s duo is gearing up for their return to television with their new show “Paris & Nicole: The Encore.” The three-part special will premiere on December 12 on Peacock, marking their first return together on the small screen since their last show, “The Simple Life,” made waves some 20 years ago. And as real fans will remember, their very first attempt at holding down a job on the show was indeed at a Sonic, where, naturally, hilarity ensued.
As Deadline explained, the reunion special chronicles the pair’s attempts to produce “an operatic performance” based on their “self-coined phrase, ‘Sanasa.'” So yeah, clearly, you’re going to need a delicious beverage to enjoy while watching this — and Nicole and Paris have just the thing.
“The stars are bringing their own personal touch to the Sonic beverage lineup with two new signature drinks and an instantly iconic ad campaign that pays homage to their history with the brand,” Sonic shared in a press release with Food & Wine about the new drinks. Can we get a round of ‘Sanasa?’ Or should we say ‘SONIC-sa?
The two-drink menu comes with a rather clever name too: Sonic Iconic Drinks by Paris & Nicole. The drinks are meant to reflect both Paris and Nicole’s “larger-than-life personalities, combining bold flavors with a fun, trendy twist.” First, there’s “The Nicole,” which Sonic explained is “sleek and berry sweet featuring flavorful Dr Pepper, sweet cream, vanilla flavor, and real strawberries, topped with whipped topping and more real strawberries.”
Then there’s “The Paris,” which is “fruity and fun and is sure to slay all day, featuring the refreshing, crisp taste of Sprite, dragon fruit flavor, real lemon and lime fruits, topped with whipped topping and Nerds Candy.”
Both drinks are available starting today and are each priced at $3.99 for a medium. “We have a long history with Sonic. It was actually our very first job, so it only made sense that it adds two drinks to its menu that celebrate us,” Hilton shared.
“We had a blast partnering with Sonic, bringing these drinks to life, and coming up with something that reflects our personalities,” Richie added. “When we thought about what’s truly iconic, it was clear — it’s us, Paris and Nicole!”
It does appear to be an actually authentic pairing, with Ryan Dickerson, the chief marketing officer of Sonic, noting that “They’ve been a part of pop culture history, and Sonic history, for so long, and they are legit Sonic fans, so it was a no brainer to partner with them to bring these iconic drinks and campaign to life.”
And if the trailer for the three-part special is any indication, Sonic will be making plenty of cameos on this, too.
