Panera is at it again with the brand-new menu items.
On Wednesday, the brand announced its latest menu additions: The Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich, Kickin’ Grilled Cheese, and Avocado Toast. But that’s not all. It’s also bringing back its Blueberry and Sesame Bagels and is sharing a very special bagel hack with fans.
The newness begins with the Spicy Fiesta Chicken Sandwich, which Panera shared in a statement, is made with grilled chicken and a salsa verde spread with aged white cheddar, sweet peppers, roasted corn, and cilantro, all piled on Panera’s Ciabatta.
Then, there’s the equally spicy Kickin’ Grilled Cheese, crafted with American cheese and aged white cheddar, which is grilled with that same salsa verde spread on Panera’s thick-sliced Classic White Miche.
For avocado fans (aka millennials everywhere), the brand is also releasing a new line of avocado toasts, including the Classic Avo and the Garden Avo. The classic will come topped with “Chunky avocado spread and everything bagel seasoning on thin-sliced Country Rustic Sourdough,” while the garden option will come with the same spread but with the addition of “sliced tomatoes, everything bagel seasoning and garlic aioli on thin-sliced Country Rustic Sourdough.
Lastly, it stated it’s bringing back the fan-favorite Sesame and Blueberry bagels starting this week. To celebrate this return, Panera is sharing a “Bagels are Back Sandwich Hack” where consumers can receive a full bagel at half the sandwich cost.
“With this special hack, order any whole-sized sandwich and customize the bread to the bagel of your choice — and you’ve got yourself two bagel sandwiches,” Panera’s statement explained. Why? As Panera added, “Because bonus bagels are the best kind of bagels.” And hey, this way you can share with a friend.
Of course, this is far from the only new thing Panera has released this year. In February, it announced its largest menu transformation ever, noting it did so to refocus on “innovating and enhancing the core Panera items guests love the most.”
“We have been hard at work innovating within our core categories and listening to our guests on what they love most about Panera,” a spokesperson for Panera shared with Food & Wine via email at the time. “We’re renewing our focus on soups, salads, sandwiches, and mac & cheese, increasing value and providing more in each bite with enhanced portions on many menu items.” Who knows, those new bagels may pair perfectly with that new soup menu too.
