Panera Just Released 3 New Asiago Bagel Stack Sandwiches

Oh man, bagel fans, today really is your day to shine. 

On Thursday, Panera announced that for the very first time, it’s creating a lunch sandwich specifically around one of its most beloved bagels with the introduction of the brand-new Asiago Bagel Stacks. 

“Known for its cheesy, rich flavor and soft texture, Panera’s Asiago bagel has long been a fan favorite,” the brand shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “Now, with the launch of Asiago Bagel Stacks, Panera is serving up a fresh take on this iconic menu item.”

Starting this week, fans can head to their nearest Panera across the United States to snag one of three versions of this new sandwich, each for $7.99. First, there’s the Chicken Roma, made with grilled chicken, mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, basil, arugula, Green Goddess dressing, and a garlic aioli drizzle. Then there’s the Spicy Steak, made with marinated steak, provolone, a creamy salsa verde spread, arugula, red onions, and “zesty” sweet peppers. Finally, there’s the Zesty Tuscan, made with grilled chicken, soppressata, provolone, basil, arugula, more “zesty” sweet peppers, and garlic aioli drizzle.

But hang on, the Missouri-based chain isn’t done yet. To celebrate these new sandwiches, the company is also offering a special “Bagel Bash” promotion on National Bagel Day, which falls on January 15. Between then and January 21, MyPanera members who try an Asiago Bagel Stack will then receive a reward for a free bagel to enjoy on their next visit.  

Panera has been on a tear for a full year since it announced its massive menu overhaul in February 2024. At the time, it shared that it was updating more than 20 items and adding nine completely new ones, including the Toasted Italiano sandwich, the Chicken Bacon Rancher sandwich, and the Ciabatta Cheesesteak. It also added and updated soups and salads to match customers’ changing tastes. 

“We have been hard at work innovating within our core categories and listening to our guests on what they love most about Panera,” a spokesperson for Panera shared with Food & Wine via email at the time. “We’re renewing our focus on soups, salads, sandwiches, and mac & cheese, increasing value and providing more in each bite with enhanced portions on many menu items.” And surely, these bagel sandwiches increase both value and offer a tasty treat, too.
