Overwatch 2’s Cowboy Bebop event kicks off on March 12, adding legendary skins based on characters from the popular anime. While Blizzard won’t be sharing the in-game designs just yet, it has revealed which characters are getting the skins and released some concept art to give an idea of what each skin will look like.
The Cowboy Bebop event will add a number of skins, highlight intros, and more to the game. The skins are Spike Spiegel Cassidy, Faye Valentine Ashe, Jet Black Mauga, Ed Sombra, and Ein Wrecking Ball skin. The Ein Wrecking Ball skin can be unlocked for free by all players by participating in the event, with the rest being sold in the shop. Blizzard has not yet revealed the exact pricing and bundles of these cosmetics, although previous bundles like the One Punch Man collab have typically cost between $20-$30 for each character bundle.
“This collaboration is a wonderful way to pay homage to the legendary stories, art, animation, and music of the Cowboy Bebop series,” Overwatch 2 associate director Aimee Dennett said in a press release. “We hope its fans and our players have as much fun with what we’re bringing to Overwatch 2 as we did in creating it.”
Blizzard also confirmed that some of the iconic music from Cowboy Bebop will be featured in-game during the event, possibly being present in a special game mode or on the main menu. The in-game models of the skins, along with the rest of the Cowboy Bebop cosmetics, will be revealed in-game on March 11, the day before the event starts.
Blizzard has not stated how long the event will run, but prior events have typically lasted for about three weeks. Overwatch 2 is currently in Season 9, which overhauled the competitive mode and gave massive health buffs for all heroes.
