Allrecipes published more than 1,000 new recipes in 2024—it’s been a busy year, to say the least. Of all the crowd-pleasing appetizers, irresistible sides, mouthwatering entrées, and decadent desserts that graced our site over the last 365 days (give or take a few weeks), some stood out more than others to the Allrecipes community. To celebrate the best of the best, we put together this list of the new recipes readers loved the most in 2024. Drumroll, please!
Marry Me Chicken Soup
Marry Me Chicken Soup—a creamy one-pot wonder that’s full of marriage proposal-worthy flavors—took the number one spot. It’s without a doubt the coziest dinner to cuddle up with all winter long.
“Made this the day after Thanksgiving with the leftover chicken. Now my mother-in-law wants to marry me. Best soup I’ve ever had. This is a potful of love! WOW! Will 100% make again and again!” one reviewer wrote.
Cowboy Spaghetti
Coming in second is…Cowboy Spaghetti! Here’s another one-pan dinner that will please even the pickiest eaters at your table.
“Everyone will love this cowboy spaghetti, a fun twist with bacon, cheese, and pasta in a spicy beef and tomato sauce. The best part is that it’s a one-dish meal, cooked in a cast iron skillet” wrote TheDailyGourmet.
Bang Bang Potatoes
Bang Bang Potatoes, the third most popular new recipe of the year, has a special secret ingredient that results in the crispiest spuds you’ve ever eaten. The Allrecipes community loved this recipe so much, it was voted the best side dish of 2024.
As Amanda Holstein, the recipe developer, puts it, “Super crispy oven-roasted potatoes drizzled with a sweet and spicy creamy sauce—need we say more?”
Tennessee Onions
Tired of eating the same old boring side dishes night after night? Switch things up with Tennessee Onions, a rich, creamy, and slightly spicy baked dish that calls for three kinds of cheese.
Hot Cowgirl Dip
Our Hot Cowgirl Dip recipe was published the first week of 2024 and it remained one of our most popular recipes throughout the whole year.
As our editor, Courtney Kassel said, this dish is “creamy, it’s cheesy, and it’s practically begging to get on your next party spread. Just be warned: One of our testers called this recipe, ‘so delicious it’s dangerous,’ saying, ‘I feel like I could eat the whole skillet myself.'”
Slow Cooker Parmesan Garlic Chicken and Potatoes
Recipes from Nicole McLaughlin, our senior producer, are always winners—and this Slow Cooker Parmesan Garlic Chicken and Potatoes is no exception. Plus, the sauce features a fun secret ingredient you’d never expect.
According to Nicole, “This slow cooker garlic Parmesan chicken and potatoes is so quick to assemble using prepared garlic Parmesan sauce for a creamy, savory dish of tender, juicy chicken and indulgent, cheesy potatoes.”
Homemade Hamburger Helper
In seventh place is Homemade Hamburger Helper, a nostalgic comfort food dinner that comes together in half an hour with budget-friendly ingredients.
According to Amanda Stanfield, who is our food studio coordinator and who developed the recipe, “This homemade hamburger helper is far better than the boxed mix. With fresh spices, and a hint of tomato, it’s beefy, cheesy, savory, and has all the makings of a weeknight family favorite.”
Creamy Mississippi Chicken Enchiladas
Another showstopping recipe from Nicole, Creamy Mississippi Chicken Enchiladas is our eighth most popular new recipe of the year and the perfect way to use your favorite 9×13-inch pan.
One reviewer sang praises for this dish. She wrote, “Absolutely fantastic! I did cut down on the peppers because my family does not like too hot. Otherwise, it’s one of the best recipes I have ever made. (50 plus years of experience).”
Million Dollar Potato Casserole
Our ninth most popular new recipe of 2024, Million Dollar Potato Casserole, is as indulgently irresistible as it sounds. According to one reviewer, “We made it last week and shared it with relatives. Everybody came back for seconds. My sister has already made it for her family. So creamy and just enough cheese. Very delicious.”
Chocolate Mousse for Beginners
Rounding out the Top 10 is Chef John’s luxurious Chocolate Mousse for Beginners, a deceptively easy dessert that’ll always impress. From Chef John himself, “This chocolate mousse for beginners is the all-time easiest method, perfect for beginners, but even experts may want to pay attention, because this technique produces the most delicious, most perfectly-textured mousse I’ve ever had.”
