Nosferatu’s Sarcophagus Is Now a $20,000 Bed You Can Buy

Estimated read time 2 min read

Still looking for the perfect gift for the goth in your life who has everything? Or perhaps you’ve been searching for a bed that will double as both conversation piece and nightmare fodder? Look no further than the official Nosferatu replica sarcophagus bed, the season’s most lavish movie tie in: it’ll run you $20,000—or $25,000 including shipping. In other words, slightly more than the movie’s coffin-shaped popcorn bucket!

It’s very cool, though. Here’s a close-up of the bed with the lid slightly ajar, as if Count Orlok himself were about to rise from the sleep of the damned:

More details, courtesy of the official press release: this full-size replica piece is “hand-crafted from premium materials including a wooden base with intricate carvings” as well as “a distinctive interior with a custom-fit mattress and foam lid for easy opening at sundown.”

Despite the foam lid, it still weighs a whopping 250 lbs, even without any ancient creatures lurking inside (ancient creature is not incluged in the purchase price). It’s “sanded and hard-coated” in a dark grey color, which seems a good choice both for spooky decor and hiding any pesky bloodstains, and comes with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity—so even if vampires remain a fantasy, you can be assured your bed is the real deal. Size-wise, it’s substantial, and will absolutely not fit any standard sheet sets: 97.75″ in length, 36″ wide, and 46.5″ high.

Also: “beds are made to order and on a limited run,” and it will take around eight weeks to ship, so it’ll arrive well after Christmas. (You can go here to learn how to order; if you’re on a budget but still want something for the Nosferatu superfan, the NBCUniversal shop has some more affordable options in the apparel realm.)

Nosferatu, directed by Robert Eggers and starring Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe hits theaters December 25.
