No, In-N-Out Doesn’t Do ‘Monkey Style’ Burgers

We all really, really want to believe that we’re in the know of things. So much so that we may even fib to pretend like we are. Case in point: everyone is saying there’s a new secret menu item at In-N-Out called the “Monkey Style” burger that only the truly cool and hip know about. However, In-N-Out is here to tell the world that, nope, sorry, this simply doesn’t exist. 

It all began with a viral post from @HungryHotline, who took to Instagram on July 6 to share a quick video of the alleged secret menu item. According to the post, they were able to get a burger topped with animal fries, chopped chili, and mustard. The quick clip has amassed more than 130,000 likes, more than 4.6 million views, and hundreds of comments to date. 

However, even In-N-Out employees are taking to the comments section so share the fact that no, you can’t get this, even if you ask nicely. 

“I wish y’all would stop posting this [because In-N-Out] will never have this,” one commenter added. “I worked there for 5 years and it’s so annoying when people post viral videos like this and there’s an influx of people asking for [it].”

“PSA: Don’t promote fake menu items, it just annoys the associates working order taking,” another added. 

“Just FYI … you will have to put the fries on the burger yourself [because no In-N-Out] will do it. It compromises the quality of the burger and fries, so if you try to order it this way, they won’t be able to do it. Just order the burger and fry and do it yourself,” one more ex employee added. 

Still skeptical? Well, Lynsi Snyder, the owner of In-N-Out Burger, also took to those same comments, and swiftly ended this charade once and for all with two little emojis: the eyebrow-raised emoji and a thumbs down. 

In-N-Out isn’t here to exclude people from its favorite burger remixes. In fact, it happily posted about “secret” menu items right on its website. 

“Ok, you’ve heard the rumors, wondered what was on it, maybe even felt a little left out of the loop. But in reality, we don’t have any secrets at all,” In-N-Out shared. “It’s just the way some of our customers like their burgers prepared, and we’re all about making our customers happy.” Want to see all the “secret” items you can really get?
