Ninja Swirl by Creami Ice Cream Maker Launch

Estimated read time 2 min read

When Ninja launched the Creami ice cream maker, it became a viral sensation. Everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Food & Wine editors were blown away by how quickly they could transform frozen ingredients into silky ice cream. Its supremacy in the product category hasn’t been questioned in the years since its creation, but that all might be about to change now that Ninja added a new ice cream maker to its roster: the Swirl by Creami. It dropped just last week and has already topped Amazon’s bestsellers list.

Instead of reinventing the wheel, the Swirl added to the Creami’s already impressive technology. You can still enjoy the classic scooped ice cream that made the first generation of the appliance famous, but now you can also enjoy six additional soft serve programs. From fruit whip to frozen custard, you can finally replicate your favorite Dairy Queen classics at home.

As before, you have to freeze your base for about 24 hours before you want to eat your ice cream, after which you’re free to blend and scoop or swirl to your heart’s content. You even get two 16-ounce pint jars in the package, which is enough for eight ice cream cones. But the best part surely has to be how easy the machine is to clean after use. The plunger, paddle, and drip tray are all removable and dishwasher-safe (as are the jars and lids), so if you keep your favorite base ingredients frozen, you can have homemade ice cream and a totally clean kitchen in mere minutes.

Despite its very recent release, Amazon shoppers already swear by the Swirl. One wrote that it’s “easy to use,” adding that their kids are having a great time trying to “perfect their swirls.” They also love that it comes with a recipe book for inspiration.

The Creami was untouchable for years, but this second generation model is well on its way to dethroning it. Don’t miss out on your chance to grab one for yourself — we have a feeling it’s going to sell out.
