(Valentine’s day with Asher)

Hey everyone! I just looked at the calendar and this is already the very last Sunday of January. Wow, how can Saturday be February 1st!

Spending the month home in Colorado has been perfect. We’ve had very typical snow days and seriously cold temperature. When I saw my thermostat hit -20 the other night I whispered to myself “this is not normal”. And then when I looked at the exterior door that sits next to my desk and realized that was frost building on the INSIDE of the door, I was like “wow, this really isn’t normal”. But we made it through the double digit sub zero temps and we’re now back up to a nice warm -2 degrees.

It might be cold, but it’s cozy, so I haven’t minded too much. Plus, I know that February is already full of travel. This month spent at home regrouping was much needed!

And I’m feeling so excited. Time off from traveling has given me time to really hone in on my thoughts and decide on what needs to be the focus for this year. What things are most important to me, and what I really want to get done? I’ve found that working backward and starting the year thinking about each month and what I want to be doing those times is a great way to help build out a plan for the year. It feels good to know we are putting in some good building blocks now in prep for the weeks and months ahead!

We have some big focuses for the year when it comes to HBH!

It’s Aspen for the family this weekend to watch Red at X Games. Then, next week, I’ll be off on the first work trip of the year. It’s for something we’ve been working on for a while! And it’s not candles or anything we’ve shared before. I’m sure some of you have a good guess!  I will say that there’s more coming from our partnership with Snif. We even have some surprises in store this year! I had a fun call with the team on Thursday. I can’t wait for what is coming!

This reminds me that I have some new candles I’ve ordered that I love! I’ll share some details below!

And we have so much to look forward to this February. The Super Bowl is right around the corner, and Valentine’s Day soon after! I’ve already been creating new recipes to share!

Other than that, I’ve surrounded myself with the things I love. Flowers, candles, a girl’s night with Asher, and online shopping – which I fear is close to becoming an addiction.

What are the things you’ve loved this month??

Have fun today! Enjoy some favs below.

1. Things I’m Loving, Wanting, and Excited to Try.

loving…winter fleece lined tights/legging. Also, I love that leggings tucked into boots is now a trend again. I am here for it. These are my favorite fleece lined tights and then these are the Lululemon align tights I have loved for so many years.

wanting…to try this 8 Eight Sleep mattress. There seems to be so much talk about the quality of our mattresses! I discovered this one through my friend Shay at Studio McGee! After listening to her rave about the mattress and then reading about it, I am now convinced I need one too. It has the ability to heat up when you are ready to wake. YES, I need that.

listening to…Aly and AJ: Disney & Dating Disasters. This was cute, fun, and a little like a trip down memory lane. Do you remember your favorite Disney show/movie. It was Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire for me.

burning…Valentine’s Day scents! I’m such a sucker for holiday candles. I love, and am currently burning, the Snif big flirt candle. I’m waiting until February to burn the Diptyque Baies (Berries) and Roses Duo, but even unlit, these smell like roses. If I love these as much as I think I will, I might need to get the larger size. And I have this Loewe Ivy Candle in my cart and I really want it.

loving…the four bouquets of roses my dad brought back from Whole Foods. The flower girl gave him the bouquets for free because they were old and not amazing looking. But they’re currently bringing me a lot of joy, and I love that they’re a little dried out. They feel very dainty and romantic.

everything in my cart (low)…from Zara, these sculpting leggings are cute. I’d pair the leggings with this suede leather jacket and buckled knee boots. Or something for winter snow, like these water-resistant ankle boots.

And I want these power flare leggings from Gap.

listening to…Lauryn Bosstick On Breaking Toxic Patterns, Morning Routines & How To Stop Attracting The Wrong Partners.

dreaming of going to…the Fairytale Village of Saanen, Switzerland. This looks like winter magic and sounds like it’s underrated, so less crowds!

loving for mom…ordering her these waffle leggings. I also love these waffle knit organic cotton pajama pants. These are on sale, but unfortunately, there’s only one pair left! They look so cozy!

She’d also love this Rib Knit Cardi Coat. This Free People cardigan is cute too. She loves a fuzzy sweater!

Speaking of which, I know she is going to want these on-sale cashmere pieces. This cashmere shrunken cable-knit crewneck sweater, this very cute cashmere crewneck, and she adores a turtleneck, so definitely this slim fit cashmere turtleneck (also on sale). And I love this quilted organic cashmere vest.

And lastly, a great cashmere glove.

shopping for me…this ribbed featherweight cashmere tee is in my J.Crew cart.

wanting…this set of 6 leather notebooks. I think I’m going to get these for jotting down my recipes. They are so cute, but kind of expensive for a notebook.

everything in my cart (beauty)…I’m ordering the N°1 De Chanel massage accessory, it’s so pretty. Also ordering this mini heart case from Cuyana. I love all these cute Valentine-inspired accessories.

I’m forever on the hunt for the best body butters/balms/creams. Next on my list are the Clarins body firming cream and Shani Darden body reform treatment serum. My tried and truest favorites are the Mutha Body Butter, Tata Harper Body Balm, and the Josie Maran Whipped Firming Body Butter Jar.

so curious…about this Cuisinart vertical waffle maker. I think I need to order this. I imagine it’s so much easier to use too.

everything in my cart (high)…these satin ballet flats from Gucci are so sweet. I don’t like ballet flats, but I love these for Valentine’s Day!

Now, some fancy coats. Into this Bottega Veneta wool-blend felt coat, Ferragamo oversized wool coat, and love this brown suede blazer.

3. Favorites for Valentine’s Day gifting.

4. My Brothers.

This is Malachi, my younger brother by 2 years. I really can’t tell you how much this kid has been there for me over the years. From showing me how to use my first camera to how to use Lightroom to figuring out ALL of my tech issues that come up. He orders me new camera lenses when I drop them (which is often), new computers when the old one dies, and pieces together video edits for me. This past week, he gave me his lens because I dropped mine – just as I was shooting the yummiest recipe. He saved my day and the remainder of the week!

I love him so much. I love all my brothers and for reasons that are special to them. My brothers are the best, and I wouldn’t change a thing about growing up as the only girl out of 5 boys (pre-Asher and Oslo)

And Kai will always be the guy who shows up for you when you need him the most. Always.

Ok, and last but not least, I am SO happy that Asher is my only sister and that we are 15 years apart. She really came at a time in my life when I needed her the most. She’s my best friend, and I love to spoil her!

That’s all! Just some family love.
