You’ll use all sorts of armaments and tools in Nightingale. However, there will come a time when you need to improve their damage and capabilities. Here’s our guide on how upgrade and infuse weapons in Nightingale.
How to upgrade and infuse weapons in Nightingale
You can infuse and upgrade weapons via the Simple Enchanter’s Focus and Simple Upgrade Bench, respectively. Take note that simple-tier options are just early-game workbenches. There are higher-end variants that can be unlocked later, and you need those to create even better refinements.
How to build and use the Simple Upgrade Bench
The Simple Upgrade Bench can be built if you have 4x Lumber, 2x Ingot, and 3x Twine. Note that you may need to buy the blueprint itself from an Essence Trader. In any case, here’s where you can find the materials:
- Lumber requires Wood Bundles and the Simple Saw Table.
- Ingots require Ores and the Simple Smelter.
- Twine comes from any type of Fiber that’s processed via the Simple Spinning Wheel.
The rarity and gearscore buffs from item upgrades
The biggest reason why you should consider gear and weapon upgrades in Nightingale is because this process also increases the item level (i.e. gearscore) and rarity. Here’s a quick summary:
- Higher gearscore is required to enter Sites of Power. These mini-dungeons are often part of main quests, and they reward new Realm Cards, too.
- Higher gearscore/item level also means that the upgraded equipment will have higher stats.
- Similarly, the item’s rarity increases in the following sequence: common -> uncommon -> rare -> epic.
- Each rarity tier requires a particular type of Essence. For instance, upgrading an item from common to uncommon rarity will only require around 40x T1 Essence.
- Each higher rarity tier also unlocks an infusion slot.
How to build and use the Simple Enchanter’s Focus
As for gear or weapon infusion in Nightingale, you can do this as long as the item is uncommon rarity or better. The workbench that you need is called the Simple Enchanter’s Focus, and it requires 1x Lumber, 2x Ingot, and 5x Glass to be built. Here’s where you can acquire the resources:
- We’ve already mentioned what you need to make Lumber and Ingots in the Upgrade Bench section.
- Glass, however, requires Gems that are processed via the Simple Smelter.
Infusion recipes can be purchased from Essence Traders, or you might find them as rewards when you complete Bastille Challenges. If you already have one, select it when you interact with a Simple Enchanter’s Focus and pay the cost in Essence or other resources. Note that infusion boons can also be found as loot drops, too.
Assuming you already have an infusion item, select a gear piece that you want to boost and apply it. It will then gain that particular effect.
As mentioned earlier, if you upgrade a weapon in Nightingale–thus increasing its rarity–it also unlocks additional infusion slots. As such, if you have a preferred armament, you can continue boosting its rarity and item level/gearscore to buff it with extra infusions.
Nightingale lets you travel to distant realms, each with their own rewards, dangers, and opportunities. For more tips and information, you can check out our guides hub.
