NFL Retro Bowl 25 Is Coming to Apple Arcade in Time for Football Season

Football is back, and on Tuesday, Apple said it’s adding NFL Retro Bowl 25 and a devilishly fun roguelite deck-building game to Apple Arcade on Sept. 5.

Apple Arcade is filled with familiar and classic games, alongside exclusive titles, that you can play for $7 a month (£7, AU$10). You can find many of these games in the App Store, but they have paywalls and ads that might hinder your gaming experience. Using an Apple Arcade subscription, you can play each game without paywalls and ads, a feature usually denoted by “Plus” in the game’s name.

Apple Arcade added Temple Run: Legends and more in August, and it’ll add these games in September.

Retro Bowl Plus was a fun pixel-based Apple Arcade football game, but it lacked an NFL license. So instead of playing against the Cincinnati Bengals and Joe Burrow, you played against Cincinnati and some guy named Martin. But that changes with NFL Retro Bowl 25.

This NFL and NFLPA licensed relaunch of Retro Bowl brings authentic rosters, logos and more to Apple Arcade. Now you can take your favorite football team and build it into a dynasty, or maybe you can finally get the Detroit Lions to the Super Bowl.

Hell has frozen over and the celestial forces of heaven are coming to extinguish the last burning pyre, and it’s up to you to stop them. Monster Train is a unique roguelike deck builder that adds a twist by spreading your playing field out to three vertical areas. With over 250 cards to use and six different monster clans to call on, you’ll have plenty of ways to ward off your enemies and take back your home.

You can access these games in Apple Arcade on Sept. 5, but there are plenty of other games to play on the service now for $7 a month or $50 annually. You can also try Apple Arcade for free for one month with your first sign-up, or you can get a three-month free trial when you buy a new Apple device. To access Apple Arcade, open the App Store on your iOS or iPadOS device and tap the joystick in the menu bar.
