My Partner Uses This $5 Bowl Every Day for Pasta, Soup, Salad, and Nearly Everything Else

While my household has many sets of great bowls for everything from pasta to soup to dessert, for my partner, nothing tops these 22-ounce white ceramic bowls she bought on Amazon before we met. Seriously, she uses them every day, with almost all types of food. And they’re $5 each. 

We all rely on certain things that comfort us when we’re eating and drinking. Aesthetically, I think these bowls are very beautiful — they’re plain but symmetrical, durable but elevated. When I say they’re durable, I mean that I’ve never seen one break, chip, or scratch. I’m sure it can happen, though I wouldn’t worry about it since a set of four is only $20 (which is probably why we have at least a dozen). Plus, they can go in the microwave, oven, and dishwasher. 

She really does use these bowls for everything. We’re talking pasta, stews, soup, salad, ice cream, fruit, and leftover Indian food. If she doesn’t need to cut food with a fork and knife, it’ll probably wind up in this bowl. “I like that they’re really deep,” she says. “I think that if you’re eating hot food, they keep your food hot longer, especially for soup.” She also finds the general footprint good and especially loves using the bowl for pasta. “As somebody who sometimes lunches over my desk, I like that they’re compact and small,” she says. “If you’re eating pasta, I like that it keeps your sauce up with the pasta and not spread out across the bottom, which happens with wider bowls.”
