The Los Angeles Dodgers snatched Game 1 with a dramatic 6-3 win over the New York Yankees when Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning — a World Series first. The Yankees will look to even things up at one apiece before the best-of-seven series heads to New York.
The 2024 World Series marks the 12th time that these two storied franchises have met in October, but it’s the first instance in over 40 years. Led by Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers have one of the best offenses in baseball.
