McDonald’s Snack Wraps Are Coming Back—Yes, Really

Today, McDonald’s made a huge announcement that fans of the chain are ecstatic about. This morning on Good Morning America, McDonald’s USA president Joe Erlinger said that a discontinued favorite will be returning to the menu next year.

“The snack wrap will be back in 2025,” Erlinger announced. “This has a cult following, I get so many e-mails into my inbox about this product—it will be back in 2025.”

The McDonald’s snack wraps were a beloved lunch offering that was sadly discontinued in 2016. Each wrap consisted of crispy or grilled chicken wrapped with lettuce, shredded cheese and choice of sauce—a simple but pretty irresistible midday bite. After thousands of customers begged for its return, the chain is granting their wishes. Our associate food editor Alex Loh is especially excited about the return of the snack wrap.

“I remember eating snack wraps as a kid—they were a quick, easy meal after sports,” she said. “My favorite was the ranch chicken wrap. I’m excited to see if the returning ones will taste as good as I remember.”

The Ranch Snack Wrap with Crispy Chicken was one of the standard flavors for snack wraps over a decade ago. Now, there’s a wide variety of McDonald’s wraps available at international restaurants, from sweet chili chicken to spicy veggie. If American customers are lucky, we might just see some exciting new wraps as part of the big return.

A specific launch date for the snack wraps has yet to be announced, but in the meantime, it’s easy to make a copycat version of the McDonald’s fan-favorite item at home. Try one of these chicken wraps while we all wait for the anticipated launch:
