Remember the days when we all felt like Dollar Menunaires? It seems like nothing truly costs $1 anymore. It’s been a year since we dove into customer complaints about this at McDonald’s.
But the world’s largest fast food chain has seen the error of its ways. In the new year, there will once again be $1 options on the McDonald’s menu. Just don’t expect to walk out of the Golden Arches spending only a dollar or two for a full meal. That’s because you’ll need to pay full price for one item to get your next one for just $1.
This past summer, McDonald’s introduced a $5 Meal Deal. The combo includes a choice of a McDouble or McChicken, plus small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink. Originally launched as a limited-time offer, the meal has now been extended through next summer.
What’s on the New McValue Platform?
Starting Jan. 7, McDonald’s will roll out the McValue platform at locations across the United States. The replacement for the defunct Dollar Menu features the $5 Meal Deal, exclusive in-app discounts, local-only food and drink promotions, and the long-awaited return of $1 items!
The Buy One, Add One for $1 menu includes deals on popular breakfast and regular menu items. Here’s the full list:
- Sausage McMuffin
- Sausage Biscuit
- Sausage Burrito
- Hash Browns
- Six-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Double Cheeseburger
- McChicken
- Small Fries
“As local small business owners, my fellow franchisees and I are always listening to what our customers want from their neighborhood McDonald’s,” said Cory Watson, McDonald’s owner/operator and national value chair for 2025, in a statement. “No matter the city or the state, they’re telling us how important it is for them to find their favorite meals at affordable prices. And we couldn’t agree more.”
We’re already downloading the MyMcDonald’s app and dreaming up ways to stretch our McValue menu millions.
