Today, during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, Capcom announced its next fighting game compilation: Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, which is a collection of six fighting games and one side-scrolling beat-’em-up from both Marvel and Capcom’s deep history.

The collection will add training mode to each game, which will let players hone their skills before challenging other fighters via the built-in rollback netcode across all six fighting games. It will also online leaderboards, which will update in real time and let players see where they stand amongst the rest of the world.

The seven games included in the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection are as follows:

  • The Punisher (1993)
  • X-Men: Children Of The Atom (1994)
  • Marvel Super Heroes (1995)
  • X-Men Vs. Street Fighter (1996)
  • Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter (1997)
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash Of Superheroes (1998)
  • Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes (2000)

This collection marks the first time the arcade version of The Punisher has been available on home consoles and PC, though it was ported to the Sega Genesis in 1994. All six fighting games have also seen a long hiatus on consoles–the most-recent release involving any of these games being Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins in 2012–and have appeared on multiple Arcade1Up cabinets in recent years.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will launch later this year for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
