Lego’s First Official Fortnite Sets Ask What Happens If You Peel a Banana Too Hard

Estimated read time 4 min read

After a long time of awkwardly flossing around it, Lego has finally decided to come good on its side of its huge deal with Fortnite. Now as well as tooling around Epic’s multiversal video game crossover smorgasbord as Lego minifigure versions of familiar faces and Fortnite heroes alike, you can bring Fortnite to your tabletop with four new Lego sets inspired by the game. And oh, isn’t that so much better than rolling around in a virtual cybertruck?

This morning Lego officially unveiled its first official Fortnite Lego sets. Rather than being inspired literally by the Lego Fortnite mode that came to the game late last year, the four sets draw on iconic elements from Fortnite‘s battle royale game mode–from iconic elements like the battle bus that drops players into every match, or the Llama piñatas filled with gear that appear around the map, to mascot characters like the Durrr Burger, or, in the most wonderfully horrifying case, Fortnite‘s beloved anthropomorphic banana mascot Peely, stripped down to his skeleton.

Take a look at the first four Fortnite sets, below, which are available to pre-order from Lego now ahead of a general release October 1.

Lego Fortnite Durrr Burger

The smallest of the four sets at 193 pieces, the Durrr Burger mascot–of the self-titled fast food chain that has appeared across multiple variants of Fortnite‘s ever-evolving map–is a pretty simple and cute replica, inspired by the brick-built model already seen by players in Lego Fortnite. It’ll cost $15, which is not bad for a small, well designed little model.

Lego Fortnite Supply Llama

Lego previously released instructions for fans to build their own tiny version of the Supply Llama when Lego Fortnite first came out in December 2023, but the official version is a much larger, more detailed model clocking in at 691 pieces. Costing $40, the Llama also suitably includes a few replicas of items found in Fortnite and Lego Fortnite once you’ve cracked it open: a Grappler gun, bottles of both Slurp and Slap Juice, a Rough Ruby, a crafting Back Pack, Dynamite, and a Good Luck Charm. All of them can be stored inside the Llama, to boot!

Lego Fortnite Battle Bus

The first of two of the initial sets to clock in at $100, the 954-piece Battle Bus is also the only Lego Fortnite set to actually come with minifigures. As well as a replica of the bus itself–which flies across the map at the start of every game to drop players off–the bus has space to seat eight included minifigures inspired by original characters from Fortnite: Battalion Brawler, Adventure Peely, Brite Bomber, Cuddle Team Leader, Cube Assassin, Trespasser Elite, Drift, Meowscles, and Raven.

I guess if you want to make it feel like more of an actual Fortnite match line up you’ll have to pilfer a few of your Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and other licensed minifigs from your collection. As well as the minifigures the Battle Bus also includes a host of accessories to equip them with, in the form of grapplers, slurp juice, and slap juice bottles like those included with the Supply Llama set, and pickaxes. Again, you’ll have to scrounge from your other Lego sets if you want some guns!

Lego Fortnite Peely Bone

The other $100 set is in the vein of Lego’s more adult-focused buildable display models, depicting the Peely Bone variant skin for Peely that rather literally peels him down the middle, revealing his skeleton and internal banana-organs. Clocking in at 1,414 pieces, the Peely Bone model has moveable arms, and comes with his banana-themed back bling (that’s basically a backpack, to those unfamiliar with Fortnite), his Banana pickaxe, and a paint launcher gun.
