The Lego Super Mario Piranha Plant is on sale for the first time since launching late last year. While supplies last–and this could certainly sell out quickly–you can grab the popular Lego set for only $48 at Amazon and Walmart. That’s a 20% discount off its $60 retail price. With Prime Day set for next week (July 16-17), this is one of the many great early deals you can buy from Amazon and Walmart.
Based on one of Mario’s best-known enemies, the 540-piece Piranha Plant Lego set features posable elements–like a mount that can open and close and a bendable vine and leaves–and sits in a green pipe just like in the games.
Rather than the Lego Super Mario playsets that include interactive gameplay elements and simpler pieces, the Lego Piranha Plant is a more complex set intended for display. However, at just $60, it’s also much more affordable than other Lego Nintendo sets that aren’t designed for interactive play, such as Mighty Bowser, the Lego NES, and the Super Mario 64 Question Block.
You should also check out Amazon’s deal on the Lego Super Mario Bowser’s Muscle Car. Normally $30, you can buy this cool set for $25. Though it does interact with other Lego Super Mario playsets, it also makes for a pretty awesome display piece. Target also has the Larry’s and Morton’s Airships Super Mario set on sale for $56 (was $80). This particular Lego Mario set is exclusive to Target.
