There’s an active recall on a limited number of Lay’s potato chips, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This is due to an undeclared allergen.
The 13-ounce bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips may contain milk, a common allergen, and the recall was announced following a customer complaint. These mislabeled bags were distributed and sold at retail locations in Oregon and Washington, and they were also sold online. The recalled chips contain a UPC of “28400 31041,” a guaranteed-fresh date of February 11, 2025, and manufacturing code “6462307xx” or “6463307xx.”
If your chips match the recalled information, Frito-Lay is urging you to discard it as soon as possible. You can also contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday for possible refund information.
Those that have a milk intolerance or allergy may experience a reaction if they unknowingly consume this product. This includes reactions as severe as anaphylaxis, which can cause symptoms like hives, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, tightness of the throat, trouble breathing and cardiac arrest. If you are showing signs of an allergic reaction, call 911 immediately.
No other varieties of Lay’s potato chip products are impacted by this recall.
