Late Night With The Devil Limited-Edition Blu-Ray Comes With Some Unique Extras

Estimated read time 3 min read

Though Late Night with the Devil originally premiered last year at South by Southwest, the unique horror film didn’t really take off until it hit theaters this March and landed on Shudder shortly after. Glowing reviews from critics catapulted Late Night with the Devil to the top of Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the best horror movies of 2024 with a 97% Fresh rating. But if you don’t subscribe to Shudder or had a chance to see it during its limited theatrical run, you can soon add the very cool limited-edition Blu-ray to your collection. Late Night with the Devil’s Limited-Edition Blu-ray is set to release on September 10, and preorders are available at Amazon for $31.

Considering preorders are sold out at Walmart, Amazon might not be too far behind. Amazon typically sells out of limited-edition Blu-ray releases before Walmart.

Late Night with the Devil Limited-Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray)

Along with the Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film, this limited-edition bundle gets you a stylish steelbook, an autographed photo of lead character Jack Delory, an exclusive bookmark, and a Night Owl’s logo air freshener. That’s a pretty cool (and unique) lineup of goodies, especially when you consider the bundle is just $31 right now. As mentioned, Walmart is sold out of this edition, while Target is selling preorders for $36.

You’ll find plenty of special features on the discs, such as commentary with David Dastmalchian, Q&A with directors Colin and Cameron Cairnes, and loads of behind-the-scenes content. The standard DVD version comes with the same special features, though you’ll miss out on all the physical collectibles and the steelbook case.

Late Night with the Devil tells the story of Night Owls–a late night talk show that has seen its ratings drop significantly, following the death of the host’s wife. The host, Jack Delroy (played by David Dastmalchian), attempts to boost his ratings by running a Halloween special featuring a 13-year-old girl supposedly possessed by a demon. Things don’t quite go as planned, and the night’s episode quickly spirals out of Jack’s control.

It’s a chilling film, and one that managed to pull in $2.8 million during its first few days in theaters. That made it the best-ever opening weekend for an IFC Films release. Notably, this figure included $666,666 on Sunday, which is thematically appropriate, hilariously improbable, and a bit disturbing.

Late Night with the Devil seems destined for cult classic status. Speaking of cult classics, The Strangers (2008) is getting a 4K Blu-ray release on September 10, too. The Strangers Collector’s Edition 4K UHD gets you multiple featurettes, deleted scenes, a still gallery, and more. Like Late Night with the Devil, it’s currently on sale ahead of its release. Be sure to give it a look if you want to round out your horror collection.

There’s nothing “cult” about this classic, but A Nightmare on Elm Street is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a limited-edition 4K Blu-ray this October. you can also preorder the upcoming 40th Anniversary Limited Edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street ahead of its October release.
