From now until Dec. 22, 2024, you can score a year-long Gold Star Membership at this fabled retailer for just $20—but there’s a twist. You still have to spend the requisite $65 on the membership up front, but you get a $45 digital Costco gift card back within two weeks if you sign up through Stack Social before the promotion ends. Without a membership, you can’t access the brand’s wide range of services, including optical care, gas stations, pharmacies, hearing aid centers, and, of course, an enviable array of products and groceries. With a membership, you get all of the above and more. For just $20, you’ll also receive one free Household Card, redeemable by anyone over the age of 16 living at the same address. This means you get two cards for the price of less than one.

As for the fine print, note that the deal is only available until Dec. 22, 2024 and has to then be redeemed by Jan. 31, 2025 to take effect. It only applies to new members or to shoppers whose “memberships have been expired for more than 18 months.” There’s also a limit of two redemptions per customer, meaning you can buy one for yourself and gift the other. In our eyes, the best holiday present is one that keeps on giving—and no superstore gives more than Costco.
