The 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off on Friday, July 26, with a complicated-sounding Opening Ceremony that will see all 10,500 athletes floating down the River Seine in a parade that will cover nearly four miles on the water.

But if you want to start your own Olympics celebrations early, Krispy Kreme has you covered, with its new “Passport to Paris” doughnut collection. On Monday, the North Carolina-based chain announced the arrival of three new doughnuts, which were inspired by the desserts that Parisians love.

The three limited-edition flavors include a Créme Brûlée Doughnut filled with créme brûlée cream and topped with caramel icing and crunchy caramelized sugar; a Double Chocolate Eclair Doughnut filled with chocolate custard cream, dipped in chocolate icing, and decorated with a fashionable-looking line of chocolate crisp pearls; and a Raspberry and Vanilla Créme Doughnut coated with raspberry icing and crumbled cookie pieces before being finished with a dollop of vanilla cream.

In keeping with the theme, Krispy Kreme has also debuted a new Créme Brûlée Latte, which is served topped with whipped cream and caramelized sugar crunch. The limited-time-only drink can be ordered hot, iced, or frozen.

“Most people can’t be in Paris to cheer on their country’s team,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s global chief brand officer, said in a statement. “So, we’re giving you a ‘Passport to Paris’ in the form of delicious doughnuts with Parisian dessert flavors.”

The new collection will be available for purchase at Krispy Kreme stores or for pickup or delivery through the Krispy Kreme app or Krispy Kreme website. Six-packs of the new doughnuts will also be available at some supermarkets and other retailers.

Krispy Kreme opened its first doughnut shop in Paris last December, and Parisians seemed to embrace its sugary American arrival. According to a New York Times article, dozens of doughnut lovers camped out overnight so they could be first in line to try the new treats.

“Doughnuts are little known in France compared to croissants and pain au chocolat,” Alexandre Maizoué, Krispy Kreme France’s director general, told the outlet. “This is all about American pop culture,” he said, adding that the doughnuts were popular among “Generation Netflix.”

As of this writing, Krispy Kreme now has six locations in France, with more scheduled to open this year. That’s good news for any member of Team USA who might need a taste of home during the Games.
