House of Spoils

Bloody-Disgusting reports Ariana DeBose, Barbie Ferreira, Arian Moayed, Amara Karan, Mikkel Bratt Silset and Marton Csoka are attached to star in House of Spoils, a “genre-bending thriller” written and directed by Bridget Savage Cole & Danielle Krudy. The story follows “an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) as she opens a restaurant on a remote estate where she battles kitchen chaos, crushing self-doubts… and a haunting presence who threatens to sabotage her at every turn.”

Beneath the Storm

Bloody-Disgusting also reports Tommy Wirkola’s killer shark movie, Beneath the Storm, is now scheduled for an August 1, 2025 release date. Phoebe Dynevor, Whitney Peak and Djimon Hounsou are attached to star.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

During a recent interview with Collider, James Cameron revealed the third Avatar movie is titled Fire and Ash because it deals with themes of  “hatred, anger, violence” and “grief.”

It took a long time to come up with a title that I felt resonated with what’s in the film. I don’t think I could say too much about it until you actually see the film, and you see what it means, but if you think of fire as hatred, anger, violence, that sort of thing, and ash is the aftermath. So what’s the aftermath? Grief, loss, right? And then what does that cause in the future? More violence, more anger, more hatred. It’s a vicious cycle. So that’s the thinking.

Alien: Rubicon

The Asylum has also released a trailer for its Alien: Romulus mockbuster, Alien: Rubicon.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

According to Variety, Timothy Simons has been cast as Tantalus in the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

The Penguin

During a recent interview with Comic Book, showrunner Lauren LeFranc stated she wanted to surround Colin Farrell’s Penguin with “really interesting, complicated women.”

Very few women have been able to write these kinds of shows. I think my perspective on Oz, and masculinity in general, is different. And that made me also want to surround him with really interesting, complicated women. In traditional crime dramas, rarely are the women as interesting as the men. So I took this as an opportunity to see what had been done before me, to respect and honor the genre, and then to also evolve it.

Stranger Things

Ross Duffer recently shared several behind-the-scenes photos from the final season of Stranger Things on Instagram.

Grotesquerie

Finally, FX has released a trailer for Ryan Murphy’s latest horror series, Grotesquerie.
