Ahead of Black Friday we were pretty adamant that Sony‘s newly released PS5 Pro wasn’t going to get a discount. It has just hit the market, after all, and with PS5 Slim consoles going for as little as AU$558 (check our hub), it feels like now’s the time to grab the older iteration.
eBay has thrown us, though: you can currently grab a PS5 Pro for AU$100 off, bringing the total down to—an admittedly still prohibitive—AU$1,099.95.
If you click that link you’ll notice that price isn’t reflected in the listing. Look closer, and you’ll see that an eBay Plus coupon will bring it down to AU$1,099.95. In other words, you need to be an eBay Plus member to enjoy this deal, or you can sign up for a free trial. eBay Plus free trials can be secured here.
Should you buy a PS5 Pro? If you’re a hugely tech-invested player who needs to squeeze every pixel and frame out of blockbuster games, then you probably should. If you’re just using your PS5 to binge Vampire Survivors or Balatro, it’s a big no. Though the same holds true if you don’t mind playing gorgeous big-budget showcases like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with a couple of small visual compromises.
AU$100 off the RRP doesn’t exactly make the PS5 Pro an impulse buy, but it’s a very nice bonus if you were planning on getting one anyway. And it leaves money left over to buy, uh, anything really, but perhaps 14 of these Sabco “lifestyle” dustpan and brush sets? It sucks to not have them around.
Don’t care about Sony or PS5? We’re collecting all Black Friday gaming deals—not just PS5 deals—on our main hub.
